Description

Unclear. Sun Xiangwu records that the Qin Straight Road crosses the Yanhe River bridge and runs north along the valley; after climbing the hill from Kangjiahe, the road splits into two branches. One runs from Jiaoniwan to Wazhaliang; the Wazhaliang site preserves Qin-Han roof-tile sherds and has yielded arrowheads, Qin Ban Liang, and Wu Zhu coins, 2 km south of the "mountain-circling" section at Jichao, the site of the Jichaoshan military post. The other branch runs from Kangjiahe via Madi to Yanxingshan, the largest "mountain-circling" engineering work on the Qin Straight Road, about 180 m in elevation change, 13 m wide (up to 70 m at its widest), with surviving north-south sections totaling 2 km. During construction of a simple road here, about 1 jin (Chinese catty) of Qin Ban Liang coins were unearthed; the quantity given here is an estimate.
