兴州公社小城子Xingzhougongshe Xiaocheng Zi

原表行号：456；出土时间：1977；不明，外城西城垣夹杂有大量粗细绳纹陶片，鱼骨盆残片。近几年农田建设中出土有战国空首布，燕明刀，秦半两，汉五铢，以及铁器。1977年省地文物考古训练班结束以前曾经在残存的城垣基址下发掘，开探方两个，清理战国瓮棺葬一个，文化层厚度1米左右，出土大量夹砂红陶片，夹砂红陶实心尖足等。下层为夏家店上层，战国遗址打破夏家店堆积，城垣坐落在墓葬上，因此推测城垣外城是汉代城址，可能是汉代的要阳城。

Original table row No.: 456; Excavation year: 1977; Location remark: Uncertain; the west wall of the outer city is intermixed with large quantities of coarse and fine cord-marked pottery sherds and fish-bone-tempered pen-basin fragments. In recent years, farmland construction has turned up Warring States hollow-handle spade coins, Yan Ming knives, Qin Ban Liang, and Han Wu Zhu coins, along with iron implements. Before the 1977 provincial-prefectural archaeological training class ended, excavation was carried out beneath the surviving city-wall foundation, opening two test trenches; one Warring States urn-coffin burial was cleared. The cultural layer is about 1 m thick, yielding large quantities of sand-tempered red pottery sherds and sand-tempered red solid pointed-foot [figurine legs?]. The lower layer belongs to the Upper Xiajiadian culture; the Warring States site cuts into the Xiajiadian deposits, and the city wall sits atop burials, suggesting the outer city wall is a Han-period city site, possibly the Han-period city of Yaoyang.
