Description
Context unknown. 150 m north of Gaixia Village, Haocheng Township; a provincial-level protected cultural-relics site; Qin and Han dynasties. The city plan is an irregular rectangle; the west wall curves slightly and is 340 m long, while the other three walls are straight — the east wall about 260 m, the south wall 260 m, and the north wall 240 m. The walls are of rammed earth and badly collapsed, now level with the ground inside the city but still standing 2.2-2.5 m above the ground outside; a moat over 9 m wide survives on the east, south, and west sides outside the city, connecting to the Tuo River. Finds within the city include cord-marked tube tiles, cloud-pattern tile-ends, flat tiles, pottery sherds, bronze arrowheads, spearheads, swords, crossbow triggers, and ant-nose coins. The discovery year is not recorded in the source. This is a different site from the "Gaixia" entry in Lingbi County already in this table (6-A6) — two neighboring sites of the same name in different counties, under different atlas entry numbers.
