安丰塘Anfeng Tang (Anfeng Reservoir)

不明，安丰塘镇安丰村东，全国重点文物保护单位，春秋，又名芍陂，《后汉书》《水经注》载为楚国令尹孙叔敖始建，系围坝而成的平原水库，现塘似方形，环塘以石护坡，堤上高墙1.5米，堤周长24千米，蓄水近1亿立方米，灌溉面积约60万亩，塘附近常有'蚁鼻'钱出土，发现年份原文未注。1962年维修塘堤时曾发现有东汉时期的堰坝遗址，出土有'都水官'铁锤、铁锄、铁鱼钗、铁钩等。

Context unknown. East of Anfeng Village, Anfeng Tang Town; a national-level key protected cultural-relics site; Spring-and-Autumn period; also called Shaobei. The Book of the Later Han and the Commentary on the Water Classic record that it was first built by Sunshu Ao, chief minister of Chu, as a diked lowland reservoir. The reservoir is now roughly square, its banks faced with stone revetment and topped by a 1.5-m wall; the dike has a perimeter of 24 km, holds nearly 100 million cubic meters of water, and irrigates about 600,000 mu. Ant-nose coins have often been found near the reservoir; the discovery year is not recorded in the source. During repairs to the dike in 1962, the remains of an Eastern Han weir/dam were found, yielding an iron hammer, iron hoe, iron fish-fork, and iron hook inscribed "Office of Water Control" (Dushuiguan).
