城父镇Chengfu Town

出土年份原文未注。 同址另据中国文物地图集安徽分册'城父故城'条（15-A15）：城父乡城父村周围，春秋，市文物保护单位，城址平面近似方形，边长约2千米，周长8千米，面积约4平方千米，城墙系夯土筑成，残存最高处约1.8米，基宽约10米多，四边各有一门，城内出土过郢爰和较多春秋陶片；据旧志记载，该城本名夷，楚改城父，楚平王（公元前528年）灭焦，易夷为城父，使太子建居之。

The same site is also recorded under the "Old City of Chengfu" entry (15-A15) in the Atlas of Chinese Cultural Relics, Anhui Volume: around Chengfu Village, Chengfu Township; Spring-and-Autumn period; a municipal-level protected site. The city plan is roughly square, about 2 km on each side with a perimeter of 8 km, covering about 4 sq km; the walls are of rammed earth, surviving to a maximum height of about 1.8 m with a base width of over 10 m, with one gate on each of the four sides. Ying Yuan gold money and numerous Spring-and-Autumn pottery sherds have been found within the city. According to old gazetteers, the city was originally named Yi; Chu renamed it Chengfu after King Ping of Chu (r. from 528 BCE) destroyed the state of Jiao, changed Yi to Chengfu, and installed the crown prince Jian there.
