Context unknown. 200 m east of Xulou Village, Caoshi Town; a county-level protected cultural-relics site; Han dynasty; popularly known as "Jiangli City" or "Red City" (Hongchengzi), also called "Beiping City." Square in plan, roughly 600 m on each side, covering about 360,000 sq m; surrounded by a rammed-earth wall with two gates on the east and west sides and corner watchtowers standing to a residual height of about 4 m; a moat roughly 15 m wide runs outside the wall. Finds have included lozenge-patterned bricks, cord-marked and string-pattern pottery sherds, and ant-nose coins; the discovery year is not recorded in the source. According to the Commentary on the Water Classic and the Taiping Gazetteer, Wen Qin was enfeoffed as Marquis of Shansang at the end of the Eastern Han, and this is likely the site of the former Shansang county seat.
