不明,光绪二十九年正月十八日,州人孙姓治智井于城南二里桥,获金七,最大者重曹平九钱,平列四印。旋归合肥龚氏景张老友,作楚金爰考。
Context unknown. On the 18th day of the first lunar month of the 29th year of the Guangxu reign (1903), a Mr. Sun of the prefecture, while digging a well at Erli Bridge south of the city wall, recovered seven pieces of gold money; the largest weighed nine cao-ping qian (a Qing-dynasty weight unit) and bore four stamps in a row. The pieces subsequently passed to Mr. Gong Jingzhang of Hefei, an old friend [of the author], who wrote a study of Chu gold Ying Yuan money based on them.
