Description

The Shiji records that in the twenty-fifth year, Qin captured two cities from Zhao. The Biannian ji 編年記 (Chronicle) excavated from Shuihudi, Yunmeng, further specifies that in the twenty-fifth year of King Zhaoxiang’s reign, Qin captured Zishi 兹氏. During the Qin dynasty, Zishi County was administered under Taiyuan Commandery. The Dushi fangyu jiyao 讀史方輿紀要 states that Zishi was located fifteen li south of Fenzhou, approximately 7.5 km. The Atlas identifies the Warring States-period city at Gongcun, Sanquan Town, as the likely location of Zishi County.
