Description
《战国策·燕策一》：“齐城之不下者，唯独莒、即墨。”《史记·田敬仲完世家》：“以即墨攻破燕军。”齐国兵器铭文有“ 即墨华之造用（16859”，“即墨华”是人名，以地为氏。即墨故城位于大朱毛村一带，1997年山东省文物考古研究所对遗址进行了调查。2011-2015又陆续进行了三次调查和钻探。即墨故城有两重城圈。外城南北长5公里，东西宽2.5公里。内城地面上已经不存在任何遗迹，南北长1.37公里，东西宽1.338公里。城内堆积以战国、汉代为主。
