Description
《水经·沙水注》：又东南迳陈城北，故陈国也。：楚襄王被秦所灭，迁都至此。陈国故城有两重城圈。内城即现在的淮阳县城，周长4500米，外郭城周长15000米。1980年河南省文物研究所对陈楚故城内城进行试掘，发现最早城墙始建于春秋时期，第二次修复时间在战国晚期。周口市文物考古管理所在基建中发现，距离地表10米左右有东周遗存。
